When I first Read this poem it made me think of Spring break. My Grandparents condo is on the top floor with very large glass windows looking out over the beach. Every day when we were getting ready to go to Dinner, The sun would start going down. The sky turned Pinkish and purplish and orangish. The sun got huge and became neon orange. As the seconds past it was as if you could see the sun moving down. Although it did go down relatively fast, it seemed faster than normal. It was a beautiful sight and the poem reminded me of that sunset.

The idea of sunset all over the world is cool to imagine. I also like the metaphor in the poem about all the fallen civilizations. But when I thought of this Big sun that made my face hurt just a week ago going down everywhere. I couldn’t. Night in Japan is Day in the USA which is my technical reason. But I imagined fly in a plane through out the world and seeing the sunset everywhere and end back in Illinois. Also when I think of the sunset, I seem to smell something. Like when you smell rain is coming, it’s kind of the feeling that the sun is setting. The sun setting puts a great image in my head
