Ulysses

I think the tone of the Poem Ulysses is kind of different than most people’s perception. It seems as though he wants to get back into a journey rather than stay home and relax. He says “ How dull it is to pause to make an end.” This quote is showing how he is full of adventure and he never wants to end. It also really shows how he thinks home is dull and nothing is going on. Odysseus/ Ulysses is ready for action and being home has no action, therefore he doesn’t like being home. This idea is different for most people.

In my experience, I love going traveling or going to places I have never visited before. I also like going on adventures, whether it is skiing, hiking or just playing on the beach. I know that after maybe even a week or 2 weeks I would want to be home or feel the need to go home. I always have a place for home in my body. Unlike Odysseus I like being home, sometimes it gets a little much when your staying at a hotel for 10 days you want to be home. In this poem, the tone of liking adventure more than home differs from my perspective.
